During this time he wrote and co-wrote a number of new books, including A Cry is Heard, Signs of the Times, Life’s Great Questions, and The Gospel of John, the Gospel of Relationship; and he received, on behalf of L’Arche, and Faith and Light, the Templeton Prize for an exceptional contribution to affirming life’s spiritual dimension.

Jean Vanier was a philosopher and theologian. He was the founder of L’Arche International and the winner of the Templeton Prize 2015 which recognises outstanding contributions to spiritual writing and to the spiritual life. He died on May 7th, 2019. He was 90.
