Darton, Longman and Todd Ltd invites applications to become its Publicity Manager, a newly-created, full-time role. The successful applicant will be responsible for all the company’s non-trade publicity activities, with the aim of increasing sales of new titles and backlist, and awareness of DLT’s profile.
We will be looking for candidates with a track record of successful publicity and marketing work, ideally in book publishing. DLT publishes books of spirituality (mostly, but not exclusively, Christian), theology, self-help, social issues and equality, and it is preferable that the Publicity Manager will have a genuine interest in, and passion for, these subjects, and the ability to identify with the readers for whom they are written.
DLT is a common ownership company, which means that it is fully owned by its staff. Upon successful completion of a probationary period, the Publicity Manager will become a director of the company. This will entitle them to share in the responsibility of making decisions over the running of DLT, maintaining and increasing its efficiency, and to benefit from the profitability of the company via the distribution of bonuses.
